A night of sublime live African groove from the Atlantic coast of West Africa with Sierra Leone's Maambena, a group led by the charismatic Usifu Jalloh, where traditional African dance and storytelling meets urban London revelling. Fresh off the festival stage of Sierra Leone's Maambena Fest and firing on all manner of drums, come prepared to be shaken and stirred. DJs Africathy (Axis of Afro) and Jamie Renton (Chilli Fried) on the decks before and after spinning non-stop African dancefloor classics and Diasporan roots and shoots to keep you on your toes."
So come down to the beautiful and funky Open the Gate, enjoy delicious food in the café upstairs, dance to 2 of London's finest DJs from 8 PM onwards, revel in the full-on sensory experience of music and dance that is Maambena from 9.30, then drink and dance some more til the midnight hour!
